Now I have a great wife!!!
Well the wife is going to let me take $1,000 from our tax return and get some parts for my truck!! That will get me everything I need to get Mater street ready!! All I will have to do is save up another $500 for gears and then later on more for lift and tires. Looks like we will be having a big wrenching party in the next few weeks!!!
|
Thats great Andy just let us know when :-bigpartyhttp://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_7_11.gif:-drink:-drink:-drink:-drink:-drink:-drink

So....she wasn't great before this? ;) :-missingt
I'll probably need at least a weeks notice so I can make sure the calendar is clear.....preferably on a day that isn't going to be below freezing. :) |
Well with how it looks for us getting in our return, then figure in a week or so for shipping. It will be about mid to end Feb till we get to it. She was pretty darn good to me before but now I really like her...but is she keeps making chebby jokes, she is gonna get a beat down! LOL
|
Ask her if she heard about the new heated tailgate option on them chebbies.
It's to keep your hands warm while pushing it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Welcome home Andy, what size and kind of tires are you putting on Mater?
|
I like that one Dave!! I am gonna have to use that one on some friends!
Thanks Mike, great to hear from you. How much longer till you get back here? When I get the money saved up I will be getting a 9" lift and I want to run 38" Ground Hawgs. |
Man, that thing is going to be a beast.
Have about 30 days left. |
Yeah, he will have a real nice stance when it is all finished. That is great you are almost done, I know you are getting excited now.

I would love to go 40's but I am just worried about breaking the front axle. I am sure it is bound to happen. So untill I can afford a dana 60 swap, I will probably just go with the 38's.
|
Do you think there is that much difference in the pressure applied to axles? I mean a 38x15.50 and a 40x17.50 isn't going to change much IMO. They'll both twist a stub shaft off in a heartbeat.
I think you should go with the big dogs up front. That way you're not always kicking yourself later for not doing it. Besides, there's 30 years worth of Dana 44's in the salvage yards. Parts are cheap and they're easy to work on. Plus if you save your money for the strong parts you can build a 44 a lot stronger than a stock 60. Likely not any more expensive than a junkyard 60 too. Unless of course the 60 is just an "I want it" thing.....in which case I understand completely. }> |
You got a mud hole picked out yet?
This got me thinking, any of you guys ever been here?: Davisville Speedway in Judsonia/ We used to go pretty regularly. |
I don't really know of any place around here. Kailey has been asking my when we are going in the mud! She makes me so proud! lol I have seen the speedway, just haven't made it yet....I really want to!
|
Alright guys...I have placed my order with JBG and hoping to see everything in a week. Will keep you posted when it gets here so we can set a wrench date!!
