Gas and Veggie oil?

I came across a site where a guy was using his own custom setup. He was pressing sunflowers and mixing the oil with gas to thin it out and run it in his gleaner and his dodge cummins. He claimed a 50% fuel increase compared to #2 on the gleaner and went from 16 to 24 mpg in his dodge. I know these claims are completely false, but is there any truth at all that mixing gas and veggie oil is better than straight WVO or bio? I highly doubt it, just curious if there is any truth in what hes sayin.

The bit of gasoline will keep any NVO or WVO mixed with diesel. His personal sunflower oil is cold pressed, and I think that is part of the magic that he gets.

I did have some promising results adding an amount of new vegetable oil with gasoline with my diesel in my older E350, but then vegetable oil went up over the past year dramatically too. I tried it in my Excursion as an experiment, but I didn't do any long term work with it to say that I got any appreciable results to justify the added expense of the current prices of vegetable oil. Additionally, I was unable to find a way to source cold pressed oils in my local area here in Wisconsin. I'm sure there are some, I just didn't find them.

Not a good idea to put gasoline in a diesel engine - for any reason, IMHO. Here's some reading for ya: Mixing Gasoline And Diesel
