this engine is in a 1975 F250?

the engine would also be a 400. the 400's smaller brother is the 351M. the 400 doesn't have an M though since there is only one 400.

to help some the 351Ms and 400s were only put in trucks from 1977-1979 if I remember correctly.

Welcome to FTE

D7TE-A3B = 351M or 400 block casting ID number used 1977/79.

It could be a 351M or a 400.

Casting numbers on engine blocks cannot be decoded to determine the actual size of the engine.

The only way to know for sure is to measure the stroke.

351M = 3.50" / 400 = 4.00"

Ford never refered to the 400 as an M.

351M is the only engine that Ford used the M with.
