Rear End Shop Near Louisville, KY

Wondering if anyone on here knows of a shop that will do a rear gear change in a 2001 F-150 Screw 2wd with a 5.4L and a 9.75 around the Louisville area I'm wanting to change the ring and pinion to a 4.10 LS from a 3.55 LS and replace all the bearings and seals including rebuilding the limited slip clutches. So far I have called Louisville 4 Wheel Drive and Moab Offroad. Louisville 4 Wheel Drive wants $1100 dollars and that's not even rebuilding the TracLok limited slip. The warranty they give is 3 months or 3,000 miles. Moab Offroad wants $1300 dollars to rebuild the whole thing. That's including the TracLok limited slip. They are using Yukon gears and their warranty is 1 year on parts and labor. I have checked on parts and it's going to cost me the same amount of money to get them as it would cost me to buy them from Moab. I appreciate any help as I am just wanting to find anyone else around town that can do this kind of job and to make sure this is a decent price for the job at hand. Thanks Again :-huh

Hey Skinner! I am not to familiar with that area, but is there any speed shops down there. They could do that too.

From Google... Kentucky Frame and Axle might be able to help. I'm sure Jimmy will see this and might be able to come up with another suggestion or two.

Ky Frame and Axle is in the Shively, Ky area if I'm not mistaken. That's the west side of Louisville. I've been there to replace a couple spindles on some axles thay had, but it's been a few years,,,,,,,,

There is a place in Chandler, IN called Commercial Truck Components, or CTC for short. I know it's a little drive from Louisville, (just east of Evansville) but they do good work.

Just wanted to say thanks for the info. I found a place called Street and Strip Performance that is doing the ring and pinion and a complete bearing and seal rebuild plus I'm putting in a Detroit True Trac for a total of $1500. I've talk to some guys around town and they told me these guys are pretty good. Thanks again for all your help. Oh by the way Kentucky frame and axle told me they only deal with semi's.

thats good I paid 700 just to have the bearing and seal rebuild. I wished I would have shopped it around at the time.

Street and strip is very good. A friend of mine owns it and has been in the hot-rod business for over 20 years. I had a 9" center section done there for a friend of mines 68 Camaro with a stout 427 in it and it has had no problems.
This is a reputable business that comes highly recommended.
