Bummer !!!
Two weeks ago, I paid $1.97 a gallon for diesel....WWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOO HHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Well, now it's back up to 2.08 a gallon! BUMMER!!! I'm hoping this is just a spike because of fears of the Israel/Gaza war. What are youse guys seeing? Joe |
a few days ago it was 2.44 a gallon around here.
|
Hey Joe, was that $1.97 in WV or across the border? That smells like VA prices to me :-X0A6
At Kroger in Elkins tonight regular was $1.89 and diesel was $2.59. Its definitely creeping back up there again. :-banghead |
2.49 for diesel last night, lowest price I have seen here for a long time.
Ours went down a dime last week from 2.59. Letter to all elected officials opposing a highway use tax increase is in order. 10 cents per gallon on gasoline ans 12 to 15 on diesel is proposed. Mine went something like as long as you are sending any money out of this country I oppose any tax increase for any reason. When you are spending all tax dollars in this country, like they should be, you will probably find a tax increase is not needed and a tax reduction would be in order. I blame all of the bailout/economy crap on high fuel prices. |
It's still around $2.79 here in CT... It's not right. Diesel used to be CHEAPER than gasoline. Also, if the increases we saw last year were all due to the run up of crude oil prices, then diesel should be about $1.50 now. We're getting seriously ripped off. :-X18

Diesel was cheap, then it became cool to drive a diesel.
I can remember 9 cents a gallon for off road for farm use in the 60's. And that was the delivered to our farm price. |
I do not know about diesel but regular is about $1.899, that is down from $1.999 last week. Any excuse will drive the price up now.
|
Yeah Jason, that was in Richlands VA.
I'm thinking that we ALL ought to seriously consider the letter that Dave was referring to. I know that I don't make my living driving...but I know guys who do! Joe |
Remember, diesel fuel prices are directly linked to the price of everything you buy.
The highway use tax you pay at the pump is a tiny drop in the bucket compared to the price of everything you buy increasing because of fuel prices. Remember everything you buy in every store has made several trips by trucks from the time it was produced till it makes it to your store. Most products, you would be surprised at how many miles it has traveled before you see it. Then let's not forget the people that were involved with any phase of the production or distribution. If it costs them twice as much to drive to work, you think they will be asking for raises? My guess is yes, so now you have the fuel price piling on from another direction. Much bigger picture than the little ones you see at the pumps in those little windows. |

When you look at how many people live from paycheck to paycheck in this country.
Then you look at twice as much money going in the gas tank, groceries getting higher because of increasing fuel prices, it don't take a rocket scientist to figure out why people quit spending money on extras and started falling behind on payments. Then the bunch in Washington decides they need a 200,000 pay RAISE. I say the bunch in Washington needs to get spending under control, BEFORE they get a pay raise. If a company needs a bailout, the entire management team needs a pay cut. The USA is not far from needing a bailout, so management needs a pay cut, not a raise. I watched part of the auto company hearings. To see a senator telling any of the automakers they were not following good financial practices was the stupidest thing I have ever seen. If Ford spent more money than they took in since 1960 like the federal government has, wonder where Ford would have been in 1965? Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Balance the budget first. If there is any money left over, then we can talk about foreign aid, but not when we have a debt that is totally out of control like Washington has ours. No one needs to attack the USA to destroy it, our politicians are doing that for them. I think they should get paid 1 dollar a year till the budget is balanced and the deficit erased, just like they wanted and got the big three CEO's to do. |
You got it right Dave!! We ought to send that to your local congressman!!!
|
I think it is time to remodel the House and Senate.
We need three sections instead of two. Put the Democrats on one side, the Republicans on the other and the Americans in the middle. The political finger pointing is going to be the ruin of us all, we are close to that point right now in my opinion. |
