Torque Converter Bolts

1967 F100, 240.

We are in the process of replacing the 3 spd on the column with a c4. We are gathering all the parts and are coming up empty on the torque converter bolts.
Does anyone know where to buy them (searched the local autoparts stores and can only find GM). Part number?
Does anyone know the size?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

PS I tried searching the forums but the search function does not work.

You are looking for Torque converter ( Nuts )! They are (Jam nuts) or (Jet nusts)!
I'm not sure of the size but I do know a 9/16s wrench fits it. The nuts have a shoulder.
Hope this helps!

i got mine from a performance shop, he had no trouble finding them. i'll look for the receipt and see if i can get the part # off of it.

A Ford dealer should be able to get them. C6's used the same ones and were built into the mid 90's.:)

I'm breaking down a c-6 from a 352...don't need the tranny or the Trg/Con bolts...

If'n they're the same....check around let me know I'll mail them to you, no charge.

Autozone lists torque converter bolts (they are actually nuts) for a 68 Mustang 289. It is part number 6717 (set of 4) for $14.99

Note: New Ford part number.

378941S441 .. Locknut-Torque Converter to Flywheel / 3/8" -24 / (378941S441 > > replaced > > 378941S78 & 378941S8)

Ford recommended that these nuts should not be re-used.

MSRP each: $1.58 / FTEpartsguy.com price each: $0.95

If the part number looks "odd" to y'all that recognize Ford part numbers, this is a Ford "hardware" part number aka a standard or utility part number.

Since Bill has come up with a good Ford part number I would use them rather than the ones I found available at autozone. I also agree on not reusing them as cheap as they are. It would not be fun to have a torque converter come loose.
