my 1991 ford ranger v6 2.9 liter its a rebuilt engine i bought it 4 months ago. i was driving and the oil pressure dropped. i go it pulled over and i had no oil on the dipstick. i put new oil in it. and went home but then i noticed it leaking badly wheni turned the truck on. its leakin from the engine under the engine do u have any advice. what should i do im in college and dont have the moeny to take it to a repair shop it fix it. if anybody has any advice PLEASE let me knw. thanks

I would suspect it wasn't rebuilt right. A leaking rear main means you have to take the engine out to fix it. Do you have mass transit? Bike? Walking? Money for daily oil fill ups? Sell it for what you can get and move on.

he's right, main is likely not seated correctly. See if you can get your money back.

damn i dont like what im hearing about my truck. would it cost alot to get it fixed u think. i knw they would have to drop them transmission i think.

It would cost alot. Figure at least 5 to ten textbooks at least. It would be cheaper to do it yourself but you would still be without transportation for weeks.

If you had the rebuilt installed, then take it back and ask them to stand behind their work. Otherwise, find out where exactly the leak occurs. Once you know, that will determine if the rebuilder or installer is at fault. Contact them.

I agree, check what's leaking if it's a covered part, see if the remanufacturer will cover it.
