You can use hydrogenated oil and it will work just fine, but its a pain in the butt. The hydrogenated stuff will not work with the reaction and must be separated via "winterization". On a cold morning ( about 50* i think ) the vegetable oil will float on top and the white hydrogenated stuff will gel up and stay at the bottom. You can then suck off the pure vegetable oil and leave the rest, but you have to be careful not to get any hydrogenated parts with it. I would ask the place if they would mind switching. From what i've heard it has actually been banned in some places such as New York or New York City because the hydrogenated oil is high in fats or something along those lines, and is alot worse for your health than plain veggie oil.
