I have a 1997 F-250 with a 5.8L 351W engine. People call it a holdover model. The joke around my truck is that, if you look at my body decal, she's supposedly a Klodike Edition. The very 1st owner bought the truck brand new, stuck a sticker on her, added heavier axles, and sold her to World Wide Movers of Fairbanks for way more than she was worth. After being brutally mistreated, and used as a snowplow (and sometimes a wrecker..) they sold her to me for 750 bucks. I'm now healing about 10 years of pure abuse..

So far I've fixed the main line to my Power Steering, and am in need of changing out the pump for it. I changed out all of her spark plugs, gave her her first oil change (:eek:), changed out her fluids, replaced her Front Inner Axle after snapping it, and took a few tiny dents out of her front fender.. the rest will be filled with bondo. I'm gonna see if I can find the sticker the guy used and replace it. It's cool lookin, and I rather like knowing that I can fool vehicle-know-nothings into thinking I own a very rare vehicle.

I need to replace my EGR valve, which I hear is cake (yay!). I'm gonna look up ways to get more milage and performance out of her. Right now when I "race", it's generally what me and my bf call "retard races" which is seeing who can get to the speed limit fastest! :-missingt I did race his explorer ONCE... kinda.. strait down a neighborhood street at 3 AM. He taught me how to launch, then yelled "I'll race ya! Past all three stop signs, but you gotta stop at 'em!" and at all stop signs you can see where I slammed my breaks, and where he spun his tires!

I love the thought of racing her, but come on.. she gets 6 feet to the gallon, and can only get up to 85MPH going downhill with a really strong wind blowing. lmao! I love to ralley her, too! She's great fun.

You know how you see those trucks going up and down the highway every day, coming in and out of town.. and they're just so old.. but so reliable.. they're usually named "ol' ___" lmao. My dad's friend had one like it... it was a.. erm... .67? We named it Ol' Blue.. cus it was old, and it was blue.. well.. sept where there was rust.. which was almost everywhere. He lived out in Houston, where he used it to haul our racecars to and from the track.

I was that poor trucks demise...

"michelle, you're 12.. it's time to learn to drive!"
"Ok"
"can you see over the steering wheel?"
"No.."
"well, that's ok. Start the engine"

I turned the key and it caught on FIRE. we don't know why. But since then, they don't let me borrow their vehicles :p

Somethin.. who knows. I feel so proud... i filled an entire tank up today with THIRTY DOLLARS!!

well, first I went to the gas station and said "thrity dollars on pump 4, please" Then I walked outside and stuck the nozzle into my gas tank thingy-muh-jig.. pressed the button that said "Regular Unleaded" and pulled the handle. When 30 dollars worth of fuel was done pumping, I turned on my truck and looked at my gas gauge. What was once between E and 1/4th a tank was now just passed F, and I'm pretty sure that means Full :p

mine goes past the F but 30 bucks dont make much diff when it holds 19 gal of diesel.

hehe, that's why I like gas. Our gas prices have gone down to 2.50 average. Lowest I've found was 2.43 and I thought I would cry.

ding dang yall! i would like to pay them texas prices of 1.80$ to bad its not worth it to live in that he// hole!
