Cheaper alternative to Stancor GPR?
Searching for deals on the Stancor GPR and I came across a thread at PSN that talks about a relay for Western (brand name) snow plows #56131 that is rated higher than the Stancor and is only about $12!

Let us know Chase! Never hurts to try something new.......

Great find, it's smaller too. The stancor looks to be much larger.
Do you have the specs on the solenoid. |
mmmm, let us know, i want to change out mine as well.

Still trying to nail down specs... I think I'll pick one up tomorrow and see how it goes. I'll be net-less for a few days though so stay tuned early next week.

the thing about plows..... who runs their plows on hydraulic for 2 minute intervals? Most are 10-15 seconds max, then off for up to 2 minutes, then another 10-15 secondson... off for 1-2 minutes.... different duty cycle. Might still work though.

Yep, that was my thought too. If the specs are right I'll be tring one for sure.
The stancor is hard to beat though...maybe size does matter :) |
Source for this part? AutoZone? Or must it be a store that sells plows? Never owned a plow so I'd appreciate your thoughts on where to buy one. Thanks!

Stancor= 12v continuous, 200amp continuous 600amp peak,21ohm coil, ; silver alloy

David where did you find the specs for this relay? FWIW, the relay is manufactured by Trombetta, there is limited info on their web site as well. |

the details or scattered in an installation PDF. While it is an alternative, it carries the same specs as the stock unit. Just like the gpr109 & gpr110. The stancor 586-902 & the 586-903 are very good alternatives. If you really want something GOOD, go with a LEV200 or EV200. http://relays.tycoelectronics.com/datasheets/ev200.pdf http://relays.tycoelectronics.com/da...-1773439-1.pdf |
Nice, but pricey at ~$90.

Not to sound retarded, but what is the advantage to changing the solenoid?
