TC lockup strategy

I was looking at another thread where the subject of controlling the lockup of the TQ Conv on diesels was discussed.

That raises a question for me on my 07 Expy. Also I have been looking into lockup control for my E4OD in my 93 bronco---I know the trannys are different!

Question is, what is the lockup strategy on the 07 6 speeds? Does it lockup at a preset speed or in any predetermined gear? I know the E4OD locks up at ~ 45 mph, regardless of where your foot is

If you dont need the ratio of an unlocked converter (in addition to that 4-1 low gear ratio!), for most driving, It would be a big help to mpg to have it lock up very early---almost just off idle in first gear. Are the parameters for engine controls adjustable with a programmer on the stock PCM?

I'll take a look at my OBD2 gage today again and watch gear selection and transmission slip, but my recollection is the torque converter locks early and often and the transmission doesn't upshift into 5th or 6th in city driving that much. I know that when towing the torque converter locks nicely as I was watching it to see if I was getting too much heat.

I'll try to remember to watch her to and from work today. A bit of expressway, a bit of city driving.
