Moisture in boost gauge

Noticed this twice so far. Only when driving in pouring rain and pulling heavy. Anybody else notice this? Any suggestions or fixes?

i've never experienced this. wonder if you have a small leak in your boost tube, don't think there should be moisture at all.

Where,s the gauge mounted, pillar or overhead?? I had a leak up in the top left corner of my windshield when it rained hard but i didn't have my gauges yet. Was coming in around the window seal. A light amount of clear RTV fixed my problem.

The gauges are pillar mounted. Thought about the leak in boost tube also and have resealed everything. Could the 6637 be allowing moisture into the intake?

man this is a strange problem. i'm running the 6637 and haven't experience this.

Edit: do you have that hole cut in your grill, i think its called the zoodad mod?

big poppa 10-28-2008 09:51 AM

Don't know about the 6637, don't have one but others that do will chime in. Maybe the gauge isn't sealed correctly, letting condensation in??

even if you run water through your boost tube you shouldn't get moisture in you gauge
I would say condensation in the guage

Yeah I run the 6637 and I have no problems with water in my boost gauge. I even have the zoodad mod done and still none. The gauge itself is probably not sealed well, and is letting condensation in.

I am running the 6637 also with no moisture issues. I believe Ray is correct. Should not be able to get any moisture through the tube into the gauge.

I do have the zoodad mod. I've only noticed this when driving in heavy rain. Any other time everything is fine. Maybe time to recheck all fittings again. I have noticed slightly slower spool up lately to. This has been happening since replacing clutch and up pipes. Cannot see any exhaust leaks so I may have a leak on the boost side somewhere.
