leveling kit fans

Hey everyone, i've searched the forums and I can't seem to find the answer im looking for. Does a leveling kit shorten suspension travel? Have any of you with leveling kits had any issue?

1. What kind of truck?
2. What kind of leveling kit?

No it doesn't shorten the travel, it raises the front end to match the back, since all pickups have a nose down stance. I guess it actually increases travel if you go with longer springs, or has a zero effect if you go with spacers/shackles.

If you are refering to a leveling kit that utilizes leaf springs, then the answer is no. These lift / leveling kits actually increase wheel travel.

Now if you are refering to a suspension leveling kit for IFS trucks. IFS being a-arm type suspension, then the answer is a little more complicated.
The length of the a-arm determines the overall travel, and unless the arms are lengthened the travel cant be increased.
Ride heigth will increased, or decreased, but the overall travel remains the same.
Adding lift only decreases suspension extension, unless the a-arms are relocated.
