1967 Fairlane decoder anybody??
I found a 1967 fairlane GT :-jammin and I was wanting to run the numbers on the VIN to see exactally what all it had from the factory. It has a built to the hills 390 in it with a manual tranny and I was just curious to see if that all was half way origional. So if anybody knows where I can run the VIN #s through to see the info on it i would appreciate it. Thanks for the help!!

I need the codes off the Warranty Plate, because... The VIN does not include the BODY / COLOR / TRIM (Upholstery) / DATE (of production) / DSO (where vehicle was ordered from) / AXLE / TRANS, codes. The Warranty Plate is located on the left door face below the latch. Example of a 1967 Fairlane VIN: 7K42S123456: 7 = 1967 / K = Kansas City Assembly Plant / 42 = 500 GT 2 dr HT / S = 390 4V / 123456 = Numerical Sequence of Assembly. |

You are in NE, and cars/trucks sold new there were assembled in KC. You also said it's a GT with a 390 engine. I figured it was prolly a GT HT, as very few convertibles were made. I also have the production figures. :) 1967 Fairlane GT HT: 18,670 1967 Fairlane GT Convertible: 2,117. I'll decode the info within a few minutes. |

D1 = You have two codes as one. D = Ford 9" / 3.25-1 / Limited Slip 1 = You sure this is a 1? 1 = Ford 3 Speed Manual all Syncromesh Transmission. 5 is a toploader 4 speed. btw: If this had been a 1967 F100/350, I coulda decoded all the info in less than 3 minutes, as I have most of the codes memorized. Cars take longer, cuz I have to look everything up. :-X22 |

That sounds like a really cool car. I have always liked the Fairlanes and Galaxies even though I have never owned one. And yes, Bill is great at having the info that normally you can't get and then some.
