My dad bought the 68 in 1970 while I was in high school, and I got to drive it some then. Then he gave it to me in 99 after he decided he did not need it any more. So it's Family to me. Since then I started a Custom/mod resto.

Similar story as blue68f100.

Mom and Dad bought my 69 f250 back in 1973 and grew up with this truck. Many camping trips,various hauling and the start of a scrap hauling hobby LOL. The truck is in good shape for a NY truck always off the road for the winter. I learned to drive with it too.

Just got "coustdy" of it 2 years ago after extended storage. Every little creak,goan and whine brings me back to my childhood. The dual glasspacks, the whine of the down shifts. I could keep going on.

This truck is my BIG brother. My 4 year old is exicted any time we can go for a ride with it.

Yep, they are. My dad bought mine shortly after I was born, lots of fond memories of 4 wheelin on the back roads and trails. now it's mine and look foreward to passing it on along with good memories to my son.

i drove my 69 for 12 years using it for construction. the truck took whatever i could do to it and just laughed. when the body died i found my 71. there's only 5 of them in my area and one's mine. back then they were made to be trucks, not like todays.

what makes my truck special to me is how easy it is for me to work on / customize it compared to the newer ones, its like nothing is made to be user serviceable anymore and the manufacturers are just keeping the mechanics in business. that and its reliable, if its been on the road for 40 years then i would tend to think its a durable truck. i need something to get me around on the rainy days and be able to haul my bikes, ford is for me!

My dad bought mine new in 1970. I was one at the time. It is a part of the family. We travelled all over the northwest in it. Way too many stories to share and bore with though. I am glad to be restoring it now.

Bought my 68 4x4 because i remember climbing up into my uncles 72 or 73 green highboy when i was 4 or 5 yrs old. That beast would pull any farm equipment that he latched it to. Both dad and i are still looking for another in that year with the 390 in it.
Hard to find them in good condition in Montana. Gotta love the old iron.

My Grandpa bought mine new in 1972. He passed away shortly before I was born in 1981, and my dad bought it from my Grandma some time in the the mid 90s. We used it for camping, and firewood hauling. Then when he got a new truck in '02, he gave it to me. So like others have said, it's family. :)

My wife bought my truck for me. She had some money put away and after we saw the truck she contacted the guy and bought it. Little did she know what would be involved in restoring it.

I have 2 trucks, 1 1967 F-100 4X4 352ci W/87,000mi original mileages,I'm the 2nd owner and only payed $500 for it. the 2nd is a 1969 F100 shortbox 2X4 390ci W/102,000mi and I'm in the ground-up stage. this truck I payed only $200 for it from the original owner who parked it in the shop all it's life. So you could say the reason is how much I payed for 2 trucks. $700 for 2 trucks complete and running. I'm lol all the way to the bank. trick1911

my truck is special to me because its my first vehicle, that i bought back in September of 2007, the truck has been parked in my dads garage ever since then and is in the process of a frame off restoration and it is the only one like it around at least that i have ever seen,the truck was a 79 it now has a mint short box 77 4x4 frame with a NP205 transfer case and the engine is a 1971 4 barrel 302 mated up to a more modern rebuilt AOD transmission, shes my first and only, i will never sell her, its also special because me and my dad are doing all the work.
