I doubt many of them know what they are or care that you took it off.... same thing with CAT's.... Maybe in Cali, but you'd have to do something pretty drastic to get nailed with a DPF-delete fine I would think.

DOT Inspectors are going to know what they are, and they certainly will care. Big trucks now have DPFs so trust me on this one, they are going to know what a DPF is, and if it is missing or not.

When are you pulling in to a DOT scale???

Look, if your state has emissions testing then you probably want to think over a DPF delete package. Where I'm at, nobody gives two shakes what emissions equipment (or lack thereof) you have.

If you go the DPF-delete route, you have to sign waiver after waiver before you get it. Nobody is entering in to this with blinders on. Delete it, get busted, and live with the fine. I doubt there will be very many people getting bit over it though....

I agree that the DOT people are not going to probably do anything to you unless you happen to go through a scale. As for the future, this may be an issue as more and more vehicles burn clean. But since there are still so many trucks out there that blow black, realistically you will be fine unless you have commercial plates.

Yup that damn 6.4 is a total failure! . My truck has been flawless in 38K mi. You will probably like the new Ford, built in Mexico 6.7 much better. It will of course be built to more strict emission standards and sure to get better MPG. Being a 1st edition it will undoubtly be trouble free unlike that pesky 6.4. Good Luck but I'll keep my International.
