Rear End
While browsing through the specs for my Expedition EL, I read that it should be equiped with the 3.73 rear end. Then I read that, that, rear end is discontinued. If I remember correctly, I should be able to discern from the vin what rear end I have. What would be the code for that?

16= 3.73
15= 3.31 |
would those numbers be in the vin or elsewhere?
I looked at the vin and neither a 15 or 16 appear. |

Second line from the bottom on the VIN plate. Here's mine:
Axle = 16 = 3.73 http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-...22-data_ex.jpg Can anyone translate the other data? I figured out the 119" wheel base. -- Chuck |

If You have the EL then, You have the 3.73 Rear Axle Are You saying that You read that Ford is Discontinueing the 3.73 Rear Axle on the 2009 EL Models?:) |
