Seller claims this car is one of seven 1968 Ranchero GT's.
What he doesn't say till you read the fine print is, this Ranchero is one of seven in this color. According to FoMoCo records, 1,669 1968 Ranchero GT's were assembled. |
It is a nice color, I like the color and the looks it does for the 68. I'm not a fan of 68's. But I like this one.
The sad thing is the car was red and they couldn'tbother to paint the underside properly. That brings the value down in my books. But otherwise a great job was done to the car/truck. |

I see the red paint underneath. There's no logical reason why it's there...unless those parts are from another vehicle, or that red is some sort of primer. |
Pretty bright red for a primer. I like the Turquoise over the red. But it seems to me it was colored changed.
A co worker bought a car on ebay. A 68 Camero suspose to be number matching car. He paid over 12,000 for it. got it shipped to Canada and found it had a 305 in it from the 80's. He ended up tearing the car down and redoing the the susposedly restoration. Had to change all the suspension, because it was all wore out and painted over. He is now finally half way with assembly, Just wants to get a crate engine. So even on ebay it still is buyer beware. |

It wasn't original and it wasn't numbers matching. It was a cobbled together POS with parts from several different years and models. Prolly early in its life, it had been hit hard in the front end, and was never fixed properly. The costs to fix the terd cost him another 30 grand. CAVEAT EMPTOR. |
I think if I was spending tens of thousands on a classic I would have to at least get an inspection done.
