Right lug nuts

I have been searching for a set of new lug nuts. I have aluminum dually rims and I need them to be the long lug nuts. Its for my 93 f-350. Here is the ones I think will fit but no sure.
eBay Motors: 32 1.88 " LONG ACORN LUG NUTS 1/2 8 LUGS FOR FORD 1904L (item 350034111189 end time Aug-04-08 14:28:52 PDT)

O-rilies, autozone, napa, and even ford could not find the correct lug nuts so I am hoping that these are the right ones.

I believe you have 9/16" lugs, and the outside hex is 1 1/16".
1/2" studs are on the light duty F250.

eBay Motors: 32 1.88 " ACORN LUG NUTS 9/16 8 LUGS FOR DODGE TRUCK (item 350052390991 end time Aug-21-08 22:05:51 PDT)

Considering how many inch and 1/16" sockets I have broken over the years, I would be skeptical of lug nuts that take a 3/4" socket to remove.

Hey, I just noticed that that place on ebay is in okc and that where I am at for the time being. I am going to take my broke ones up there monday and get some new ones. Thanks for the specs dave.

If you got a dually you don't use cone surface lugnuts! Unless you got some special washer-type inserts to go between the lugnut and the wheel. The dually wheels have no cone-shaped recess in them like single wheels do, so if you are to use cone lugnuts you will need those washer-type inserts to adapt the cone lugnut to the flat flange surface of the wheel.

Well, These are aluminum bud wheels, not a hub pilot system. These wheels actually have tapered holes in them for the tapered lugs just like the one in the picture for the auction. I don't know how common these are. I noticed that the steal rims are hub piloted though which my inside duals rims are steel, but the outer rims and fronts are aluminum. Here is a picture of the wheel if your browser will let you view it. They could just be some aftermarket wheels that ford did not originaly put on any of the trucks but they appear to be just as old as the truck. Thanks though, these may just be uncommon wheels.

Also dave, you were right on the 9/16 size stud. I would have got the 1/2" which are the wrong ones. Thanks

Those look like aftermarket wheels of some sort, but I have been wrong before. So these have tapers on both side of the mounting flange (inside and outside), for installing them as both front and rear outboard wheels? Interesting setup, never seen anything like that before. Maybe they were installed at the same time your mega-cab conversion was performed? And yes, the studs are indeed 9/16, the half-inch is what mostly small (fullsize cars land halfton trucks) vehicles got.

My truck has long lug nuts on it like that, for some reason.

FORD MEGA CAB!!! 08-04-2008 03:26 PM

ghunt, You get the new rims on yet that you have posted at cardomain. They look great. I have been wanting new rims cause the old aluminum ones are stained real bad and by the time I get all 4 of them cleaned and pollished, I could have started on a nice set. Not big rims though but just newer 16s. Hey good job on welding that intake pipe, looks great.

Dave Sponaugle 08-04-2008 05:28 PM

Ford duallies are supposed to be hub centric wheels since back in the mid 80's.

ghunt 08-04-2008 08:28 PM

Nope, don't have those wheels on yet, it still has the grubby old chrome steelies on there. Still have to buy tires for those new wheels but I will pretty soon.

FORD MEGA CAB!!! 08-05-2008 04:33 PM

Also, just checked out my old aluminum rims and they are front/back spacific meaning only one side has the taper for the lugs so 2 are tapered on the inside and 2 are on the outside so I have to leave the rears on rear and fronts on the front. They will not interchange. They are also NOT hub pioleted (or hub centric) except for the inside duals.
Ghunt, What is the size of those rims. 16,17,18.... Thanks

LCAM-01XA 08-05-2008 05:32 PM

Weird... guess that means you don't really have 2 spare wheels like the rest of us do when we run unloaded. When you order new wheels make sure they are hubcentric tho, especially if you haul heavy stuff.

Mega Cab,
When you find lug nuts let me know where you got them.
I have a Ramcharger I'm turning into a wheelin' rig with a 440 bored .030" over and I put a Dodge dually Dana 70 4:88 rearend in it. It uses huge size lugs and I can't find "oval head/bevelled" lug nuts for it locally, they're all too small. These lugs are larger than anything I've seen on a 1-ton. They barely fit through the lug-holes in the aluminum wheels I have, they must be 5/8".
I figured I might give your guy(s) a try if they can get you taken care of.

FORD MEGA CAB!!! 08-06-2008 05:43 AM

I should be going to the lug nut shop today. I gave them a call here in okc and thats all they carry almost is just lug nuts for like 50 years or something. They say they are a warehous of lugnuts and they have almost any type of nut I need. I will ask about your lugs when I go.
MLSC, don't forget, You can still use the inside steel dual rims on the front, thats what Im using right now for a spare, I just need to get the right lug nuts for it to be ummm....correct.
