OIl Filters, Wix 1734?

I want to get a high quality oil filter to go with my new Schaeffers synthetic oil. I have read the past posts about oil filters and have seen lots of opinions but cant seem to find any tested proof of the better filters. Im not asking the age old question of which is best...just wondering if the Wix 1734 at $24 is that much better than the Motorcraft 1995 at $10??? Or is there a better option?

This question is assuming you have no bypass filtration and ~150k on the motor running synthetic oil.

Both are good, I've used both. If you buy at Fleet Filter you can get them for less, the wix 1734. I used the motercraft 1995 from Wally world last time 'cause I ran out of the others.

fleetfilter has the 1734XE and the 1734. XE has 10 micron nominal rating with the same flow as the standard 1734 which is only 19 micron nominal. But the burst pressure is lower on the XE. Is 200 psi burst pressure too low? Im sure its not. Has anyone used the XE version?

I have recently found the Purolator "PURE ONE" line of filters, the OIL is # PL44872 for our 7.3s they say they are 99.9% efficient, about $16.00 at the chain stores that sell Purolator products.
I just changed my oil with Shell Rotella Synthetic and this filter, I'm planning on 10k miles before I change it again, I will send in a sample at 5k miles.

It is a very good oil filter and have used it many years on the 7.3L psds with 0 problems but for 14 dollar difference buy 2 and a half motorcraft ones because there just as good.

I just bought a Motorcraft filter at Wally World for under $9.47. When I go back by that store next week I may buy 4-6 and just shelve them because for that price they can't be beat.

I want to extend my oil change intervals to 10k or more if I can, without a bypass filter. I think the pure one or the Wix XE should work well. I am going to try and find flow rates on the pure one.
