underdash air units
hello guys
this may be a dumb question but i have to ask or i will not know.i wanna put air in my 76 f-100 eventually but dont wanna put factory air in it ive looked at vintage airs website and had noticed the under dash kits, does anyone know if these are a pretty simple install?? do u have to have a compressor ran off the engine or what the website doessnt mention running anything out under the hood. Is everythin gbuilt into the box itself |

the kit i was looking at is the New mark IV under dash unit from Vintage Air ,

Yes, you will have to have a compressor mounted on the engine. You will also have to mount a condensor in front of your radiator and mount a dryer somewhere under the hood. You will need to run two lines from the engine compartment to the underdash unit and a drain hose from the underdash unit to the outside of the truck. The package from vintage air may contain everything to complete the installation, I'm not sure. An "underdash unit" itself contains only the evaporator, fan, thermostat, and controls. Great units though, I've had one in my 33 p/u for nearly 20 years!
