'94 Lightning woes....

A friend of mine has a '94 lightning w/E4OD. Here's the problem...

Under load (WOT) the engine climbs to about 3600 rpm and falls on its face like it's rpm limited. It also will not shift at this time. You let off the accelerator a little (1/4 back) and it shifts into the next gear and the power starts coming back....no codes, no nothing...

It has a motorsport mass-air conversion on it and some bolt-ons like roller rockers and the such.....

Funny thing is, it won't do it unless it's warmed up. When cold it operates properly and has gobs of power....Any ideas?
