Tire Air Pressure

I know I've read it here before about front and rear tire inflation door sticker calls for 75 psi i have LT265/70R17E All Terain BFG's i think i read 50psi in the rear with no load and 55psi in the front because of more weight, any info will help:-huh

I am running 315/70/17 BFG A/T's (have had 315's for years), and I have been running about 50-55 in all four for year. Never had any problems, and I usually get 70k+ miles per set. I do not haul heavy loads on a regular basis though either. I do plow, and tow the occassional trailer, but no massive loads in the bed.

I'm running the same 265/70R17E tires on my truck (see sig).

75 pounds all around gives a bouncy ride.
70 PSI all around rides good.
If I go 65 PSI or lower i start getting a death wobble in my front end )steering wheel oscillation) after hitting a bump.

You may or may not find out this is true with your rig, but you need to experiment to find the best pressure for your situation.

Im going to try 70PSI and see what happens.

I have the original equipment BFG's on my dually. The truck works real hard but is very rarely off pavement. I forgot what the inflation pressure is but it is the max cold as stated on the tires. Yeah, it rides a little on the stiff side empty, but it is rarely empty so I don't notice.

I've been told that airing them up high improves tire life. I can't tell for sure since my BFG's only have 112,000 miles on them. As soon as they need replacing, I think I'll keep the replacements aired up pretty hard also.
