My Mountain's on Fire!!! Dabg it!!!

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...65_240X180.jpgOver 9,000+ acres so far and growing!!! It's less than 5 miles from my house!!! So, I mowed the grass right down to the dirt and have the sprinklers going 24/7!!! The embers keep landing in the yard, so now the little buggers can just drown!!! Ha! Ha!! Ha!!! Now, just cross your fingers that the wind doesn't shift!!!

It went from this~

To this in under 12 hours!!!

Now the fire line is halfway across the face of the mountain!!! I hope it keeps moving north-east!!!

I saw a huge cloud from I-5 Sunday evening, heading home from Mayfield Lake. Which happens right off Hwy 12. Saw the cloud and thought one hell of a T-storm or fire. Unpacked and actually listened to the news. Sure enough its a fire.

Where's Nick? and just keep watering!!!

A G2G with plenty of beer will take care of that fire...Just kidding.

I contact my parents about daily. They live in NORCAL and have many fires around them.

I guess we have to hope that no one is hurt and no homes are lost.

On the bright side...Next year's fire season will have less 'fuel' to keep the fires going.

Nick's on a fire in Wenatchee. He calls every night and tells me all the gory details of my fire!! Ha! Ha!! I love that he knows more than me and he's so far away!!!

He says it's over 14,000 acres now,, well as of noon today. George and I drive over to a little spot every night and watch the flames. It's kinda cool in a destructive sort of way!!

I think it's rather pretty!!

Fire is cool. Just hurts when it touches you.

Are you eluding to fire dancing on a pallet in your back yard?

Where's the marshmellows?

lostmybeer 07-30-2008 06:46 PM

Still in the camper.

Snowbunny 07-30-2008 09:58 PM

Ok,, The fire is 80 some percent contained, and the Forest Service is going to keep crews up there until it's under snow!!! So, I almost dare say we are in the clear!!

Best part is, it's Nick's crew that's up there!!! So, whenever he gets his two days off, he's only 20 miles from home!!! Now we can get drunk together!!! Whoo Hoo!!! :-drink Ha! Ha!! Ha!!!

Its too early to be thinking snow. August is a couple days away.

Snowbunny 07-31-2008 08:49 AM

It's NEVER too early to be thinking about snow!!! Besides, August is tomorrow!!! Ha! Ha!! Ha!!!
