Well I usually just fill that gap with fresh air!Now you know what to use in there, you just gotta get one of these guys to tell you how many inches of it you need between the cab and the bed......I kill me!!!

I looked at a lot of trucks when I was trying to figure that out. The distance seems to vary. My F-3 had a slice in the lower part of the cab caused by a bed rubbing against it at some time in the past. When I converted it to an F-1, I did not want a repeat of that so I re-drilled the bed mounting holes and moved it back about an inch so I have a gap of about 1 1/2 inches between the cab and bed. :)

Hot and humid in the Chesapeake Bay area....today it's a 1" airgap.

mellowyellow55 06-26-2008 06:28 PM

In Utah it can only be 1" of ambient air.

rtcalabrojr 06-26-2008 06:50 PM

So air is air and the distance is 1"

There is supposed to be a gap?

fatfenders56 06-26-2008 11:06 PM

Okay, now that all of these out-of-work comedians are done (you can see why they are out of work) center the rear tire in the wheel well and see what you have. I didn't like what I saw so I moved the corner post to the very front of the bed. It's all optical but it sure closed up the gap.
