my new old truck

Hi all....
I just bought a 67 ford f100 with a 352 ...3 on the tree... I decoded the vin number on the door which says it is a shortbed with a 240 5 cyl. engine . Mine is a long bed. I figure a door change in the past.
I was wondering did the 352 come in this truck or is it a transplant..
thanx to all who respond.....

352 was the only V8 choice 1965/67.

The VIN engine code is the 4th digit. Y = 352 1967 (and 1966, D was used in 1965).

1967 serial number range (last 6 digits of the VIN): A00,001 thru B82,000.

If your truck's doors do not have lock knobs, it's a 1967 door.

The doors used in 1967 are 1967 only.

1968/72 doors look the same as 1967, but have lock knobs. The lock knobs were mandated by the Fed Gov't Safety Standards which went into effect for the 1968 model year.

Most of the 1967's doors internal parts are not the same as used 1968/72.

The 1967 internal parts that are one year only include the following: door shells, window regulators, door latches, door lock remote controls, door and window crank handles, armrests and misc attaching parts.

i did not know that

Thanx Number Dummy
I knew about the door locks . Also the 67 was the only year in this body style that had the heat control pull out knobs instead of sliders like the 68 thru 72 . also at the back of the bed on the drivers side there is an electrical plug with a spring loaded cover. i was wondering what it was for ....maybe a plug in for a camper pigtail...it has the hooks on the outside of the bed too..
