Glow Shift
 

What is everyone's opinions on glow shift guages. I dont have much money and want a pyro to keep and eye on my temps. It is about 96 bucks and comes with wiring and a probe. What do you guys think? :-X16

I haven't had any experience with those but Generally the cheaper gages will cost you in the long run....don't seem to hold up. They usually give out inaccurate readings after a while too. My 2 cents.

well i have the glow shifts and so far i really like them, havnt gave me any problems and work great. i got some pics of them in the link in my sig.

I don't have any experience with the glow shifts but I do recall several guys have negative opinnions on them. I can't remember the reasons anymore though.

Like I said I can't remember what the deal was about them. I remember the topic came up a few weeks ago and everyone seemed to have a negative opinnion on them...

Auto meters are supposed to be great for the extra $20

i thought about them. then these guys talked me out of them due to several problems and non working gauges. im going for either issapro or autometer. maybe even heads up display. that would be cool.

i like my glow shifts...

Ihave the auto meters and LOVE them. Wouldnt have anything else. Oh yeah, I have them in all 3 of my strokes.

Next to my home and property my vehicles are my biggest purchases. I install gauges to assist in protecting those investments. Believe me when I say,
"I understand what it means not to have a lot of money"

But to skimp on a few dollars for the very gauges that you rely upon to safeguard your investment doesn't compute. I doubt that you would run substandard, cheapo oil in your rig just to save a few bucks.

This is just my humble opinion and please don't take it as criticizing anything you have said.

I don't. And thanks guys for your opinions. I don't know what I'm gonna do yet. I might just wait fot a bit and do some more research.

I'd go with a set of autometers. They are more expensive but they really do stand by their products. My water temp gauge took a dump on me a couple months ago. The warranty had been expired at least a year and they still gave me a new one. No questions asked. Saved me another $130 or so.

if you have the 96 bucks, then i would save another 40 bucks and get an isspro, they are excellent gauges and i am very happy with the kit and the performance of them,

I have read a lot of bad stuff about the Glow Shifts... I almost bought them but went with Isspro instead. I found a complete kit (boost, pyro, trans temp, pillar pod, wiring, paint, etc. etc.) brand new that someone had never installed for $300. I've also seen good deals lately on Amazon for Autometers, but they don't come with the pre-wired harness for power like my Diesel Manor kit has. Like many others have said, I would save your $ and get quality gauges.
