Check oil soon light on...............

My GF told me the check oil soon light is on in her 07 Explorer.

I do not have the truck with me to see, and with that I do not have the manual to look through.

I just want to know how to turn off the light, or does it go out after the 15,000 mile point. I did an earlier than 15,000 mile oil change at about 13,000 miles, only because it was past 3 months on the oil in the truck.

SO DOES THE LIGHT GO OFF, OR IS THERE ANOTHER PROCESS TO TURN IT OFF? OBDII ETC.

I haven't had mine come on yet because I haven't pushed it that far, but I've reset mine every time I've changed the oil. You use the 'SET' and 'RESET' button to reset the clock on it. If I remember, you push the set button to go through the maintenance fields and when it gets to oil, it tells you to push and hold reset to start it over. It was pretty simple. :)

DAMN! I just remembered I haven't looked up the sender for you! :-banghead

I've been traveling a lot for work and forgot all about it! I fly back in the morning and will look it up tomorrow if you still need it. Let me know if you still need it!

Sorry about that!!! :-fire

Where is the reset button located? On the stereo head unit? or someplace else?

Don't need to rush getting the sender info to me, when ever you get a chance is fine with me.

I'll look at the owners manual when I get a chance to find out more about the reset function for the change oil soon light.

As far as my gauges go, I plan to go with Autometer GS series, I am getting an oil pressure gauge and a voltmeter(I also need to find a place to get a reading).
I did pull off the center console and I will be able to mount the gauges in the lower section behind the gearshift.

I don't have a close up, but if you look right under the radio and vents, you will see a row of buttons:

The ones on the left are the set, reset, and something else. The center button is the traction control, then the 4x4 switches on the right (on my ST anyway). I think the Explorer has it set up the same.

For some reason, I never noticed the markings on the buttons.
I do not see the truck everyday, and my memory is getting worse by the day.
So I will check it out this weekend.

Hell, I ride in mine everyday when I'm in town and can't remember what the labels are... :-missingt

I know one says reset, but can't remember the other two for the life of me...

I feel better now, I thought it was just me.

At least the buttons in the truck remain the same from day to day, unlike the gas prices posted out side the filling stations! $3.57 reg unleaded today.
