I have Carr Super Hoops. Wider than the Hoop II. You can put a size 12+ foot on it longways. It super convenient. Plus, it really enables you to step in/out of the truck and not slide out, ruining seat bolster. Was thinking of a set for bed access. Some dude on here has one.

Azryael Has the bed steps on his truck. Pic is on a page or two back from here.

I have the Carr Hoop too, and I hate them. The truck is 2WD, so you don't really need the step anyways. It makes crawling under the truck a pain too. They are bolted to the rocker panel; which makes removing them problematic. Unless you know of a way to fill the empty bolt holes.

I got these aluminum strips from HD and cut them and drilled new holes for the carriage bolts. I JB welded the step holes from the bottom. Put the Ford ovals on them from the JY.

Lubed the tailgate latch

I agree with you that they may make getting under the truck a pain. Not sure about removing them and filling holes. But, I can tell you I do need the steps to get in and out. Age, problems with knees an hips, being short, etc. make it difficult to get in and out of my truck. I need to get running boards or something for my wife's 4Runner soon too.

Glenn, Don't know if you caught it but I did that aluminum piece in my pic above to take care of where mine were drilled and mounted. Also, they were in the way for me when working under the truck.

I am that dude, or one of them, anyways.

These are mounted much differently from the ones on the cab, and are much, much sturdier.

I like having these steps, but I cringe at watching the rocker panels flex when I use them, and I only weigh about 170.

Got the new ARE Cover put on yesterday and had the windows tinted. I really like the cover. The color match was great. I think I need to adjust the cover slightly but that shouldn't be a big deal.

A cat walked on it last night and that is going to be a problem.

Shoot the cat

Lots of thoughts have crossed my mind. Believe me.

How did you manage to mount the rear ones? I guess the front ones really have no more bolstering than the rear. The fronts fit in that channel under the rocker box, but that doesn't provide much.

The original owner mounted these. I'll take a photo when I get back home.

Do not shoot the f'in cat.

Figure out a non-lethal way. Savages.

I think it was between 150 and 200 installed. Now that it's tinted, it looks much better. My 3rd brake like had shorted out and partially melted. The new LED was one of the only lights I could find. I looked hard at several different covers and decided to go with ARE. I think I made the right choice for me.

How's the 3rd brake light brightness-wise? I heard some of them are weak.
