Ok, thanks grems4ever. Thats how I want to mount some lights on my truck but hoping do do it somehow without having to drill holes in the bar.
On topic, today I replaced all 4 shocks on my truck plus replaced the crappy old brake hoses.

Picked up some 40/20/40 seats and what I hope is all of the wiring that I'll need.

Also picked up a new to me tailgate.

Dropped the front axle out of it yesterday and replaced some worn parts. New ball joints, axle pivot bushings, spindle bearing, seals, repack bearings, welded up a small crack on the TTB housing. Today it all gets bolted back in and aligned. I'm trying out Mevotech's Terrain Tough joints, I'll see how they hold up. Mixed bag on Moog, one side lasted 170k miles and the other about half that, figured I'd give these a try. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...f8069d9788.jpg

It snowed up high, so we went snowmobiling. I was leading the charge drift busting but had a momentary delay. Chains took care of that.. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...fa3cabcd67.jpg

Fun times. I like using my truck more than wrenching!

I know it looks dumb to try to push on ahead here, but there was close to 2 miles of dirt after this point on the way out. Mountain sleds overheat on dirt so we try to limit that kind of abuse.

Put in a new water temp sensor and oil pressure sending unit (aka switch). Nothing major, but at least it's only little stuff to get it running and drivable.

The other day the plastic part of my auto trans shifter cracked. One thing led to another, and being as the truck has 152,000 miles on it, I bought a shifter, a shift tube and a OD button, and replaced all of that. My shift tube was not broken, but both of the plastic bushings were worn badly and the top one was not in place. So the end result is a very positive shifter again, although the rest of the truck is pretty worn. Good old 1996 F350 Crew Cab SRW 4X2 7.5 W/E4OD. DALE

Changed the oil

What i've done in last month since i got it.
- Completely went through and replaced all AC parts, including switches. Added weatherseal tape to climate box.
- 5% tint all the way around
- Ran distilled H2O through system as much as i could to flush. Cooling system seems to be in good order.
- Oil change. 10W30 Mobil 1, K&N Filter.
- Completely cleaned coolant overflow/window washer bottle.
- Removed intake silencer.
- Installed warm white led strip in overhead light.
- Put "old" Kenwood BT952HD headunit in, with Kicker CS6.5 up front and CS6x8 in rear. ...PPI Atom amps to follow with a Kicker CVT10 shallow mount sub

Today!
- Put in stock manual window cranks. PO had some 70's ones on there. Not fair unless vehicle is carbed.
- Removed old track bar and bracket, prepping for adjustable track bar and 3" drop bracket.
- Attempted to get pitman arm off, on one side the pitman removal tool was bending and slipped off. I heated up with a torch, bent it back. Same issue. I'm either gonna weld a gusset, or just go get another one.
- Put on F-O-R-D decals on tailgate. Graphic Express makes some nice products at a good price. I'm SUPER happy with results. I thought reflective black would be cheesy, but now that i think about it, in the snow, maybe not such a bad idea. North country AZ highways, as well...Maybe i should have gotten it.

About 4 days ago ordered a new starter for my 1988 from ebay much better pricing than the local parts stores. It arrived today will install tomorrow. Tonight I ordered a set of led headlights for it and will install those when they show up

I hope your decision not doing the transmission doesn't come back and bite you in the backside had I done that I can promise you it'd come back and bite me in the backside that's just the kind of luck I have when I do something like that.
I have a 1991 F250 4X4 that a kid owned (enough said there) I used to be young myself and I know what I did with my vehicles during those years, I'm enjoying working on it though.

Seats, console and sub-frame just came in and got them done. Also put new 3M pinstripe all the way around. Overseas stuff no sticky.

Sandy, that looks awesome. Great job and nice selection on the seats and console. Post a pic of your pinstripes when you get time.

buddy119 06-11-2017 11:13 PM

Added some Monroe Load Adjusting shocks to the rear the other day. They were a bear to get on there by myself.
