Now I just need to finish painting it the right color.

I'm gonna buy a Mazda B2600i / B2300 or a 2.8L Ranger...

When I get my loan consolidated and get my tax return, I'll take that money and buy a baja bug or some other tow-toy.

05 super 04-05-2008 10:24 PM

that'll knock you're gas bill down. we got rid of the wifes expedition and got a little v6 escape. mileage around 22 on the highway. expy could get 18, so not much difference. too late now, owe ford for the next 5 years.:-banghead

I'll never own a new vehicle. The return on them isn't worth it. Plus I'm already in debt up to my eyeballs, and I dont wanna ever go down that road again... I'll stick to buying used, thanks.

preppypyro 04-05-2008 10:34 PM

Looks nice man, i like the look of it for sure.

05 super 04-05-2008 10:39 PM

i think of used as buying someone elses headache. they got rid of it for a reason. probably to buy a newer one. lol. but this isn't to say i only buy new. i've only bought 2 new vehicles in my life. the escape and my 05 f150 was brand new, everything else was used. and i feel for ya about the debt problem. been there and still doing it.

Lookin' good Agent
That box will definately up the anti on the truck.

Secret Agent 069 04-05-2008 11:15 PM

Thanks Guys... It'll up it more, when I get it painted. I'm also going to make a custom gate out of wood. tailgates are hard to come by for pickups. I have some nice pine 2x8's that'll make a heavy duty gate. Then get my brother to carve a blue oval into the gate :D

05 Super: I've been lucky, all the used vehicles I have bought, I only ever bought one total lemon, and it was a Chevy (go figure).. I bought a 91 Chevy Sprint (Suzuki) it was my second one, and it was a complete piece of junk. I donated it to Pick a Part..

05 super 04-05-2008 11:22 PM

i don't want to get on the chev subject, i'll be here all night. lol. i'm glad you've had good luck with used, as i have too. just never know.

Secret Agent 069 04-05-2008 11:49 PM

My F150, I bought it last Oct for $500. I've put about another $500 into it. I figure if I ask $3000/$3500 on Craigslist, and will go as low as $2500, I'm still $1500 up. Which in my books isnt a bad profit margine.

four-sixty-power 04-06-2008 03:53 AM

I have a spare tailgate from the 73-79 years, if you find the hardware it is doable to bolt it up to your newer truck, I don't need it anymore. I know I saw a post of how to do it a couple years ago on this site...
