looking at a Turbonetics turbo

I'm looking at a turbonetics turbo part #11117 and am trying to see if this is a good uprgrade for me.Truck is in my sig.I do alot of heavy towing.I am also debating going to single shot injectors.Would this turbo work for me?What are some opinions good and bad. Also any others that might be a better choice.I maybe able to get this turbo fairly cheap ,but if it will do me no good then I'll pass.

That's a great turbo. If you have a EBPV used as an exhaust brake, it will work. Works great on everything up to hybrids.... Single shots- either stage two or one will work great with this. Buy it from Blackwidowdiesel.com

I dont run a brake and will probably do a delete pedistal. Will it work with stock injectors and dp tunes setup for a stock turbo till I get the new sticks?I think I might be able to get one at what I think to be a great price ,400 to 500.

Also forgot to ask if it will solve my surge?

No, dont buy the one off ebay, if that is what you were thinking of. Just sounds too fishy to be a true turbonetics turbo. You won't find a new, genuine TN for less than 1500 if its the BB design, which is highly desireable. I guarantee that picture is a stock photo of a TN for a ported compressor housing for a stock turbo. It would also be wise to get a ceramic coated exhaust housing, and a high flow turbine outlet if you do the pedestal delete. Im running the older Journal bearing .84 housing, but i want to get a 1.0 housing because i dont like the sound of the exhaust with it, plus i want a larger housing with less backpressure. Go for the 1.0 housing if you do, which comes stock. It works great on stock injectors, with the wastegate connected, i see 33-34psi on my higher tunes with big oil programming on stock pump, 32 with big oil, and it spools *Very* quick. idle to 30psi in probably less than two seconds. Yes it will solve your surge. Mine doesnt, and i've never heard of a TN surging.

Hadn't looked at ebay.Got a friend who may able to get one type thing. What should I look for to make sure it is what I want, numbers or cast in words?

The compressor housing has Turbonetics with the logo stamped in it. The compressor backplate is not finned like the stock one, and it's rather smooth i believe.
