performance exhaust
who knows whats the best performance exhaust for a 2007 F150 with a 4.6L engine?
|
I don't really know. I have a flowmaster on my 5.4. Seems ok. Pretty mellow sounding though. Not what I expected when I put it on.
Maybe try here. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum65/ |
Man exhaust can be debated so many different ways.
Myself I wanted to go with something kind of cheaper, and still get good flow. This is when I had my 97 with the 4.6. Anyways I yanked the cats off, and went true dual. It worked pretty well. |
yeah thats a good idea but, yanking my cats off would probably screw up my warranty, well what i'm really after is a warranty safe exhaust system that offers me more performance and gas mileage and all that jazz, i also want good sound.
|
Depending where you live, taking off your cats would be alot of hassle too.
Borla would be good in addition to what the other guys said. Have you tried the exhaust forum yet? |
no that was my next place too look, i was just throwin the question out there
|
what would be the best to run the pipes? out the sides? or straight back?

I love the look of pipes out the back, however Agent is right. Out the side does sound a little better too.
|
If you run the pipes out the side I would suggest behind the wheels. I had it run out in front of the wheels once and it wreaks havic on the wheels.
|
My stock exhaust on the 97 I had was in front of the wheel, and it turned the color of the rim funny, and started to corrode it.
|
Exactly the problem I had. Otherwise I like the look.
|
The look is cool.
This is kinda off topic but sidepipes!! I wish they made them again like they used to. You know the ones, they follow the side of the cab, and they shoot out to the side. |
yeah side pipes would look really cool.
|
whata bout just yanking the cats off would that improve my sound and performance? and have either of you done that before how easy is it? do they just bolt on and off
