I Went to Look @ The F100 Today

Over at Dave's. The only body work it needs is on some rot down low in front of the driver's door, and a couple of little screw holes. The motor sounds tight, but will need to be cleaned up and have the oil pan, valve cover & front cover gaskets replaced. There is a coating (for lack of a better term) on the roof - I don't know if it was a vinyl top or not - but it could use some attention. Windshield and rear window rubber could stand replacement as could the weatherstrip ,window channels and cat whiskers. The grill can, I believe, be straightened, and a couple of the trim moldings could stand to be replaced.

Wiring in the engine compartment - maybe a harness for the charging system from the junkyard. It has the carter spark-retard smog bs that can probably be 86'ed along with the dual vacuum advance for the distributor. The carb could stand a rebuild.

The interior will take some work as well - (2) door panels, upholstery, etc....
All in all, it's a project that requires more time than money - which is a good thing.

Here you go, Bill - numbers!

You know that the F-100 designation covers from like '52 to well into the '70s. Please, throw us a Bone here. :-X21

I am pretty sure this is the one he is talking about...it's a '69 f100

This is Dave's post from the "group project truck" about this truck:

Guys,

We have a '69 F100 our family wouldnt mind turning into a chapter group project. My fiancee and her mother will even keep it registered and insured. It was my fiancee's father's truck when he passed away almost 2 years ago. He wanted to fix up the truck, but never found the time and was running into health problems. The previous owner before him was my fiancee's uncle, who passed away and left it to my fiancee's father. I put wooden siding on it to take a couple of loads of trash to the dump which i plan to remove in the future. I had dreams of stuffing the biggest motor possible in it, maybe a 4x4 conversion or just making it a nice slick boulevard cruiser. Its just sitting here in the driveway waiting for attention. Its up to you guys

You didn't state that it was the Club Project. :p

SteveBricks 03-12-2008 01:27 PM

It isn't - but it might be. It's really up to Dave, what he wants to do with the truck. I just gave a little run down of what it is and it's condition (to my eyes).

Or not....is correct.

This is a painted on ~ (made to look like a real) vinyl roof.

Very common once, tho I've never seen one on a truck of this vintage...cars were the usual victims of this charade.
Believe it, or not...this is a Gen-U-Ine Ford Dealer Installed Accessory :-X15 :-missingt

There is/was no radio data on Ford Warranty Plates.

Besides, that type of radio wasn't availabe from Ford, ever.

1969's had a in dash optional AM radio, a hang on stereo was also an option. That's it.

Wow Bill you are amazing! I uploaded a whole bunch of pics in my gallery if anyone wants to see. As of now we arent certain what we want to do with the truck. We have so many vehicles around here. If everyone chooses to make this the project truck, does anyone have a place better than mine where we could work on it and park it?

Hey NumberDummy, you mention that the first F100 was made in 1953, what year was the last one?
