Clutch issues!!
 

Hey guys i have been haveing some issues with my clutch, i guess it is the stocker not for certain though. what is happening is i have to mash the clutch peddle to the floor for it to fully disengage and still it is hard to get into gear and sometimes grinds while going into gear. Also when i start up my truck you can tell it isnt totally disengaged cause it wants to move forward.. what would cause this and how do i fix it. thanks all

Take a look underneath the dash. With the truck off, press the clutch down and look at the linkage between the master clutch cylinder rod and the lever that pushes it down. Between the lever and the eye of the cylinder rod there is a metal post welded to the lever and a small plastic bushing that slips over the post and goes through the eye of the rod. It is probably worn, so take a look at it and get back to us.

You can simply pull the clutch rod off to the side of the post/lever to get a better look at it.

i have actually replaced that whole metal peice clutch master cylinder and the all important plastic sleeve. really cant figure it out is there any way of adjusting it or no? thanks

no... you can not adjust these clutches...

Take the master cylinder rod off of the lever post and see if the rod will retreat further from the firewall. What I mean, is that if it goes past the point of the post towards the steering column, than you will have to adjust the position of the lever.

When you say metal piece, are you talking about the part that has the pin that the plastic bushing installs onto? That part is held onto the pedal assembly with a nut, but it's a splined fit. Maybe you can clock that part by one tooth and get more travel?

Yeah that is what i was wondering if i would have to move that peice just a little to adjust but would moving it that little would it make that big of a difference?

Dont forget ther are bushings around the shaft that goes from the clutch pedal to the right side. Mine are so shot the pedal will move down about a inch just to take up that slack.
