Oil Buildup/Leak Left Side at Rear of Motor

06' F150 XLT 4x4 Screw

I will be taking my truck to the dealer for some TSB and other checks (see "Rattle" Thread) and noticed that I have some oil buildup on the left side near the rear of the motor where the exhaust manifold comes out. I got a look at it when I was lookign for the rattle. It ios not dripping, but this is probably the source of the burnt oil smell I get after pulling my ToyHauler home up the grade (5-10 mins at 55mph @ 3500 rpm) to my house.

Will the dealer bother with a small leak liek this if it is not dripping. I have no drips on the concrete or any other buildup.

Thoughts as to source/fix?

Oil Buildup

I have a different engine, but had the same problem. I had an oily spot on the left side of the engine at the rear, just aft of the exhaust manifold. It never dripped, but stayed wet looking all the time. I took it in under warranty and they changed the lower intake gasket which didn't help. Then they said it was the head gasket. They changed both of them and that stopped it. It's dry as a bone now. So, yes, have them fix it!
