04 F350 Interior lights.

My buddy has an 04 F350 crew cab with the 6.0. He installed HID lights and after about a week his parking lights, cab lights, interior lights and dash lights stopped working. We checked it out and the fuse for the the parking lights was blown, we switched it, they blew again, then we switched it and they have worked ever since. BUT he has no dash lights, no lights on the doors lighting up the windows ect. The dome lights work along with the lights on the doors that come on when the door is open. We took the HIDs out and we have checked all the fuses and I think the relays were ok. This is a real annoying problem especially at night! Does anyone have any suggestions??

It may be your main headlight switch. Apparently like everything else, it has a "microprocessor" inside it. It sounds expensive. If you want to double check that it's the problem, pull it out and with it plugged in make sure you have voltage on the tan/white(you should if the running lights are working. Then check to make sure you have voltage on the brown wires with the headlight switch on. After that, check for voltage on the blue/red with the switch on. This blue/red is what feeds the dash lights. If you have voltage everywhere except the blue/red, I suspect your switch is bad.

Thanks, I'll give that a try!

so i checked all the wires and i had power where you said i would and none at the blue and red wire. Soo i went to another truck and checked the wires in that one and they all had power. since they had power i decided to put to that switch into the 04 and still nothing...

Check the fuses again. With the new switch, they may have blown.
