Is there a performance head for a 5.4

I have a 99 f150 5.4 4x4. I'm getting the ticking lifter type sound with an intermittant miss. I suspect something in the valve train is getting ready to let go. If it does I'd just have it changed to better flowing heads. I saw in Summit that ford has a performance head for the 4.6 for less than $400. Is this the correct head for a 5.4 also? I saw the heads in a print catalog in the stang section

Ford is the only one that makes the modular heads! What you saw on Summit was probably a PI head/performance improved head!
You already have PI heads on your 99 5.4.
Now,,you can have them ported and put better cams in and make more power but its not cheep!
I'm waiting on a set of heads now from here. And I'll be putting custom ground cams in from Comp Cams.

Patriotperformance also takes the '03 8 thread PI heads and ports and polishes them out for around $1200 a set.

Yes Patriot is the lowest price for head work that I have found.
I just sold my Patriot heads and cams(stage 2) But they were not 8 thread heads!
So be sure to specify 8 thread when ordering if that's what you want!

Would my '02 Expedition 5.4L also have the PI heads?

Putting heads from a smaller displacement engine to a larger displacement engine can raise the compression ratio too high. Just because they fit don't mean they work.

Your 02' Expedition should be 4v heads and they flow enuff stock.

Comp Cams stuff is the best-not cheap. I priced a pair of replacement of ported 2v heads for my 02' 5.4L F-150 complete with Comp Cams valve gear and cams for $2500. Just R&R and stomp the gas.
