Code P0750
I have a 2000 f150 2wd 5.4 . I have been getting this code(p0750) a couple of times. The description is shift solenoid (a) malfunction. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this code before, and has some possible causes or corrections.

what drivability problems is this code causing you?
|
That is the funny thing, There are no symptoms, the code comes up and I'll clear it. then it will come back the next day..Tranny shifts and functions fine..

hmmmm....the only thing i could suggest would be to do a check with an volt meter to check if the solenoid is functioning properly but it seems odd there are no symptoms, maybe check for a loose connection.

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
Pull th e transmission electrical connect and inspect for corrosion or loose/damaged pins. Clean connector with electrical contact cleaner. Using dielectric grease, reconnect it. Reconnect the battery and keep your fingers crossed that it was just an intermittent electrical connection. Steve |
Thanks guys, I'll Try these suggestions and post the result.

So Tek - did you ever resolve the shift solenoid A malfunction? I've got that code on my Expedition 5.4L now too and am starting to research it and what I need to do (along with some other problems on another post).

SSA circuit failed to provide voltage drop across solenoid. Circuit open or shorted or PCM driver failure during on-board diagnostic. Depending on which trans you have, if you have a 4r70w, it can be the solenoid, the internal wiring (which is a molded lead frame assy.) It may also be the external wiring or connector as described. I have had a few issues with the molded lead frame connector assy. however.

The tranny shop has been trying to figure this out.. the code with no symptoms started to have a symptom. the truck acted like over drive would not engage rpm's too high on the freeway.at first they told me the torque convertor came apart.. after replacing convertor, both solnoids, over drive solenoid, over drive band. The symptom and code came back.I have had the truck back to them twice.. now they have replaced the internal wire harness and the external connector (external connector had tranny fluid in the dry side of the connecotor. i have only put a few miles on it so far. no problems yet..
