2001 250 super duty

Wondering what the consenses is on upgrade headlights? My stock ones just are not bright enough.

You can go with the 02-03 Style composite with sylverstar bulbs which are plenty bright, especially with the highbeam mod. Search BRIGHTBOX

Or you can go with the 05 model or the harley davidson edition which look cooler but i think are as bright.

The older style are cheaper and i think you can find both of them on EBAY ,bulbs at autozone, anything is better than those cloudy things youve probably got. Whole shootin match out the door 200-400ish on the wallet

Agree with Benny on this one. Go with the '02-'04 clear style...even if you keep the OEM bulbs. But...a nice upgrade to that are the Sylvania.

Absolutely. A direct bolt-on.

If you want totally new OEM, then you might try a FTE sponsor DirectFordParts. Or...a good alternative is eBay.

If you want a little more after all that you can do a harness upgrade to get as much voltage as possible to the bulbs. They only use like 18Ga wire so there is quite a loss in voltage. My Intrepid was wired the same way, 18Ga from the battery, to the relay box, to the fuse box, to the headlight switch, to the dimmer switch, and finally to the bulbs. I measured voltage at the bulbs with the bulbs in and headlights on and it was only 10.5V when the battery measured 12.7V. Also light output goes down at the power of 3.34 or something like that with voltage. I put relays in last weekend for high, low, and fogs and it was a pretty good improvement.

I got my 02-04 style lights and a set of clear corners for 130 plus shipping off eBay. You can also get those style lights from TYC.

Are the 9007su bulbs the blue ones? They are bright but I hate looking at them when they are coming at me. I am looking for a light that is bright but that will not tick people off as they are driving towards me.

You just have to be sure not to aim them too high, thats the biggest problem with most headlights. People raise them up so the low beams are darn near high beam height and then the high beams are almost off the road high. The low beams in my Intrepid are so bad I lower them way down and run high beams. They still suck, but are better at least and I never get flashed by oncoming traffic.
