Need some help identifying
 

Looking a little more closely at the truck that I recently acquired I am puzzled upon the year and model of it. I have searched hi and low for a vin and found nothing. It was sold as a 1959 F-500 but looking at other pictures the front end looks different. Its 2wd has dually tires in the rear with some pretty big suspension. I was told it was an old dump truck. Still has the PTO take off I'm assuming for the dump. I beleive the motor is a 266 six. Thats pretty much all I got on it. If anybody could verify what this truck is that would be great and any other information about it. I haven't seen many of these on-line is this a rare find? Here are a few photo's to help.

The grill is 59, but the hood looks like a 57

If this were an F-100: the hood, emblems, the round turn signals, gravel pan and grill indicate it is a 1958. The 1959 grill had only 3 vertical bars.

However since this is an F-500 it may be a 59. In my "Ford Truck Chronicle" book it shows a 1959 F1100 that looks like yours (same hood, turn signals and gravel pan but the grill is a 59), so since it is an F-500 I think it could still be a 59.

I vin number is usually on the glove box door. It is also stamped on the frame. I found the vin number on our 1960 F-100 on the top of the frame on the passenger side kind of under where the battery is located. Others have found it right behind the cab.

Looks like a pretty nice ole 58 and a big truck at that!!! Bill

Sit back and take a good look at the first photo, taken from the right side. Look closly at the size of the tire and wheel as compared to the rest of the body and the distance from the bottom of the door to the floor. I'll bet four shiney new quarters against a stale donut that the truck is a one ton. I swear those are 16" tires and wheels. Tom

That's what I thought too, the tires look to be 16" and the wheel openings are too small for a larger truck. I would think it is a F350.

It's a '58 F-350 for certain sure.

The front wheels are 16" So I guess I have a 350 one tonne?
