Sirius Audio gone
The other day (coincidentally the same day I moved offices at work and lost the ability to toss a sirius ant out a window) I got in the car, turned it on and Sirius program info came on, I could change channels, but no audio. CD and FM radio work fine as does my bluetooth thing. Anyone else experience this? It is ongoing now for a few days and the car going on and off.

I assume you have the navigation head unit? I have not heard of this. Does your head unit display the artist and channel info still?
Yes nav unit and yes it shows artist and title on as many stations as I try. If it wasn't 1 unit I'd guess that a cable came loose or something (but be surprised that left and right went out at the same time.) But 1 unit, don't expect much in the way of cables other than the ant-in which seems to be working fine.

Unless your subscription expired?
Yes, 2 hrs at the dealer saturday they claimed it was the subscription and gave me Sirius' number. Great idea if it weren't on a lifetime, which Sirius confimed. Going back to the dealer to be sent to their electronics specialist wed. Yipee.

Good Luck on the repair. How will the merger with XM affect you(if at all) since you are a lifer with SIRIUS?
No idea how the merger will affect me. At the current rate, my lifetime may end before the merger receives approval. But I'm only in my 30's. Honestly I'm not all that concerned. The reason to choose Sirius was fairly easy. I'd heard bits of XM via trials and directv. Mojo Nixon and Stern made it no contest. Jam_on and now the dead channel even more so. XM doesn't appeal to me much. For sports I'd generally listen to local teams where I believe my AM radio would pick up if I ever actually put on the AM radio.

Check the antenae. I had a similiar problem and I ended up replacing the antenae. Everything else worked here as well.
I had this happen on my old aftermarket unit. It went to my Kenwood Nav system and it turned out to be a bad Sirius receiver/ant. It would show me the info but no sound. Hopefully this is all it is for you.
When the sub runs out you get no info, etc. Just channel 184. I am guessing bad Siruis receiving unit or antenna.
Did the merger get approval? |
Thanks for your insight on the merger and being a lifer. I think I will be going the same road.
Well dealer looked again, they have to replace the whole unit. Supposedly on friday.
That really sucks but at least it is on Ford and not you.
When you say whole unit, do you mean the Sirius receiver unit or the head unit?
