what to do to make my 08 f250 xl look better
 

Hi All!

I just got an 08 f-250 super duty xl no chrome at all The front grill is black, the light bezel is black too. I was hopping to buy after market grill inserts but then realized the inserts would be chrome but the rest of the grill will be black, any ideas on how that will look? I saw that you can buy an all chrome grill but the cost a bunch of money, I checked the junk yards but nothing yet. I was think a chrome brush guard, am not sure on how that will look. Any ideas (don't have bunches of money, that's why I got a xl) I already have chrome rims and will get step bars and fender flares was planning on all chrome, but with the front black grill I was thinking about keeping everything black.(step bars, black fender flares and black brush guard but I think chrome looks nicer. What do y'all think? Give me some ideas

first thing i would do with an XL, change out the headlights to the XLT's, and replace the seats inside for a more comofortable ride. Then save some more money and do all outside appearances later.

Unless you are going to get an aftermarker grille like billit or something I would stay with your all black idea.

i would go with the headlight upgrade. I have a buddy that changed his to the harley light i'll see if he wants to sale his others.

Please do, I would love to get a set of xlt lights.

350.00 for a set is a little high they go on ebay all the time for under 200.00.Here is a grill to go with it.

well there not mine and this is the price he wants. that link you posted is a starting bid they go for $237 each at ford. Heres one on ebay also for $185 for one.

thanks for all the replies! I think 350.00 is high too I saw quite a few headlights on ebay, but I think the headlights can wait. I was thinking of going black but I think chrome will look better. I have on order the patriot bug shield, will order a set of ss step bars then will get some chrome fender flares, then do something with the front. I was thinking of a chrome front grill but they are 900.00 I either put chrome bullit grill so the inserts will be chrome and the the grill frame will be black, or get a grill guard chrome is pretty expensive, black is half the price, or just wait and see if I can pick one up in the junk yard(probably not). Or just get the xlt lights on ebay. What do y'all think?

As some of you know from a previous post I'm try to make my xl look a little nicer. Thanks to all the poster who had gave me ideas!
I just won a bid on 2 xlt (both)headlights for 185.00 includes shipping. Good price.

My question is I saw somewhere on these forums on who to replace the headlights can someone point me in the right direction where I can find that post, I tried the search(under forums) and said I could not use the search feature. Thanks!!

go to a truck stop and buy some stacks then throw some black oven paint on them. might look sweet.

Ahh I wouldnt replace stock headlights for stock headlights, if your going to replace the headlights, I would go all Euro, but for each his own. Also, like some others may have said, a nice fat chrome grille. You cant go wrong with that so far. The next kick ass thing would be some tint, and maybe some clear or smoked roof lights depending on the color of your truck. Could you post some pictures, its sort of tuff trying to imagine what your truck looks like, it might not need too much work if you got the right rims and paint ectt..

I bought the xlt lights cause I think they look a lot better, nope not The Harley Davidson ones but at 185.00 not a bad deal.

What else do I need to do go with chrome step bars or black chrome or black grill guard? I am get a red whit and blue American flag bug shield.

whenever you decide to remove those big black things hanging on your doors, let me know. They stick out like a sore thumb and I have some about half that size I'll swap with you.
