Are there any GOOD salvage yards/places in N WV/SW PA/E MD?

My truck really needs a new radiator support. The one in there is pretty well gone at the frame mounts.

The only place I have dealt with is Pickup City in fairmont, and for what they want for a used radiator support (with rust around the frame mounts, even), I could buy a new one from Rockauto.com for not much more.

I never hear much about any other places in this area. Do you guys know of any that aren't stupid expensive?

i forgot one -- jordan auto parts they have a place in weston but main yard is in pa and they will meet you at places along their delivery route -- what do you need parts for?

I have no idea what the name or phone number is, but somewhere up on 7 west near Blacksville there is supposed to be a yard with lots of Ford trucks.

Lowell Larew 304-892-4490

He has his main office out on Route 50 East of the 92 intersection.

Not sure if I spelled his name right though.

Jordan Auto parts has a place north of Clarksburg on route 19, just a couple miles from route 50.

this is the place in pa i was thinking of -- looks like a fairly big yard

The place in Blacksville, I think I know the junkyard you're talking about (on top of the hill?), I wasn't aware it was open to the public. I stopped by there years ago and was told it wasn't.

Got a link to that?

Dave Sponaugle 01-12-2008 11:17 PM

I had a phone number a while back.
I called about a part, which they had.
So I told the guy I would be there the next afternoon.
So I take off work early and drive up to Morgantown and start out 7.
About 15 miles from 79 I call to get final directions, and he says he will be closed early to go to the bank before I can get there.

Tore the number up and went to Ford and bought the parts new.

If I counted in the fuel, the parts were cheaper from Ford than they were from him anyway.

That link is not working for me today.

I did a google search, that same link did come up in a Ranger forum as well.
That link in the Ranger forum was posted last November.

Anyone know anything about Chissy's Auto Truck Sales on 218 north?
That was another salvage yard I have heard about, may be the one I was thinking was in Blacksville.

Sounds like not to far from Mannington witht he directions I happened on to a minute ago.

Go get on US-50 W 0.5

Go 1.6 miles and then Take exit towards US 19/HWY 20/W PIKE ST 2.1

Go 1.1 miles and then UNITED STATES ROUTE 19 becomes US-19 3.3

Go 13.8 miles and then Turn LEFT onto HIGHWAY 218 17.1

Go 10.6 miles and then Go LEFT to stay on HIGHWAY 218 27.6

Go 0.8 miles and then Go RIGHT to stay on HIGHWAY 218 28.4

Go 9.4 miles to Chissy’s Auto Truck Sales 37.8

That link did work.

Looking at the prices I may have to ride up there.

ghunt 01-16-2008 02:21 PM

Damn, I'm definitely gonna have to check out that upullit come spring! Can't believe how cheap their stuff is.

I'll see if my brother wants to come once I get my truck on the road.
