98 Ranger alarm going off
 

Hi all and Happy New Year
My alarm in my 98 Ranger XLT will go off after I switch off the ignition. Any suggestions what could be causing it?

does the alarm go off when the key is out of the tumbler set?

It has gone off several times when I am not in the vehicle and no key in the ignition.

Majority of the time it goes off just after I shut the engine off with the key in the ignition/tumbler set. I have to push the unlock button on the remote to shut off the alarm. Next time it happens I will use the electric door locks to see if that shuts the alarm off.

Check the door pin switchs, to see if they are sticking, or when it goes off, see if the dome light is on.

i think your talking about a anti theft alarm! consult your local dealer for any recalls on the issue. man you got me stumped that could be anything!
