8X6.5 to 170mm rear hub change

I'm having trouble finding out if I can put 8X170mm rear hubs on my 86' 10.25" Sterling rear end.

The 86' 10.25" Sterling rear axle comes with 8X6.5" bolt pattern. I have installed a 2002 Dana 60F in the front with the newer 8X170mm bolt pattern. This kind of sucks. They changed bolt patterns in late 1999, so my question could be:

Will rear hubs from a 2000 and later Sterling 10.25 (or 10.5") fit on an 1986 Sterling 10.25" rear end. Of course part numbers are different due to the bolt pattern, so I am hoping one of you has some experience I can draw from. Thanks!!

No takers? With the wealth of information here someone must have had or remember a similar condition. I've used the search option and cannot find any answers. Surely, someone has done this conversion or at least tried?

i have no idea but if i were in your shoes i would call a dealer and if they could not tell me i would order the parts and when they arrive compare and if there not the right parts i would return them

the other option is to get a rear from a 99+ and swap that in the rears are ussually a dime a dozen

I'm tracking this tread is over 4 years old... But im trying to find info regarding the install of the later axles in the 80's truck's...

Are the later Superduty axles a bolt in for a truck like my 86' F250HD?

I think i read before the spring perches are not the same... Can anyone please throw in some input on the swap? Thank's!
