Welcome to FTE

From your description, it seems to me that the booster is going bad.

List the AXLE code from the Warranty Plate-left door near the latch.

I need to know the axle weight capacity before looking to see what brake system you have. I need the last 6 digits of the VIN also.

I took a qwik look in the parts catalog at the types used in 1969:

With single hydraulic vacuum brakes = only one type, axle code not needed.

With split hydraulic vacuum brakes = there's at least 6 types > >

Need to know the VIN, the size of the brake shoes: 14 or 15 inches, the diameter of the booster, the axle capacity.

The axle capacity, as previously mentioned, I can decode from the axle code.

OK, i will get the info requested asap,. Its actually a HD, tranny drivin pto twin piston cab controlled dump truck with 2 speed rear axle. I think its allso referd to as a "5 yard" truck.. it weight is 9500 lb's empty. It has a 330 FT engine.
It will dump a full 14' bed of wet dirt in about 7 seconds.

OK, im not sure what set of numbers is the ones u need, heres what i got from drivers side door in the order they apper.

After looking up the vin i posted that maynot be the original door, but then again the decorder i was useing was kinna hard to understand with limited info.

On the up side i found what looks to be a match to the booster i have. The picture and messurments are the same and the id tag thats on the mounting bolt matches.
Says its a "hydro vac booster" .. I may have misunderstood what i read about hydro vac brake sysems but dont they run off the power steering unit somehow? My truck has no pwr steering the vacume comes of the intake manifold beside the carb that runs down the fire wall down to the booster under drivers side.

Yep, your booster is definetly bad. Don't haul anything else until you fix it. My dad has had three of these trucks and the booster can completely go bad all of the sudden making it difficult or impossible to stop with any kind of a load.

No, that's a Hydro-Boost My truck has no pwr steering the vacume comes of the intake manifold beside the carb that runs down the fire wall down to the booster under drivers side.

Hydro-Vac's are remote mounted power brake boosters.

A Hydro-Vac is NOT a Hydro-Boost...two different systems entirely!

The door info you posted above is wrong (F10 = F100 / it should be F60 = F600).

Someone swapped doors and didn't rotate the old VIN to the replacement door.

ok thank you for this info i will get the booster. were mite i find brake cylinders shoes and drums for this truck? I put new rim/tiers on the front 2 years back and i think the rims were 20 inch rims or maybe it was the tiers, it was 20' something. The cylinders leak pretty bad now and i have to pump them up from nothing after 3 days of sitting.
Iv googled high and low and i cant seem to find any info.

My dad and I just finished restoring ours and he got all of his brake parts from the local Auto Star and Napa parts stores. I know he bought new shoes, wheel cylinders, and brake lines for it. The drums might be harder to find. Ours were good enough that we just sanded them down and put them back on.

Outside, on the edges of the drums are Ford ID numbers. If you need new ones, post the ID numbers...there's dozens and tough to figure out without those ID numbers. As suggested above...most of the parts can be bought from autoparts stores. NAPA will be your best bet, and for hard to find stuff: joblotauto.com, this company specializes in older BIG Ford truck parts.

The numbers you posted for the drums are not in my cross reference catalog.

However, from the looks of things (MAX DIA 14), you have 14" brakes...and luckily, there only ONE type.

The axle weight is either 5,500 or 6,000 lbs. front axle capacity.

Brake shoes are 14" x 2 1/2"

Front wheel cylinders are: 1 1/16" in diameter.

King Pins: 1964/72 F600 5500 or 6000 lb. axle capacity: C3TZ-3111-A

FTE sponsor GREEN SALES has 10 sets of these king pins sets in stock: 800-543-4959 EST.
