Zero Boost??
 

Got gauges installed, Look great but.... no boost reading. Heres a rundown of what i've done. Tapped into the MAP line. Ran boost tube to gauge, no kinks. put pressure through boost tube to gauge from air compressor and that worked. so i know the gauge works. went to highway reading 0 boost and got on it in fourth gear at about 2500 rpms, gauge needle shook to about 5 pounds and thats all ive seen so far. wondering if the boost line im using is too thin and is collapsing or if my pickup is just not pushing any boost. most tell me i should be around 15-17 with no chip. i have a cold air intake and straight pipe. any help would be great.

It will not collapse since it is pressure. I would check connections to verify good seal and if you used any pipe thread connections be sure you used teflon tape. You probably applied alot of pressure from the compressor. Try metering the pressure down to 15 psi at the compressor and the putting it on the gauge, both at the map line connection and at the gauge itself.

you've got a problem with your tubing/gauge. You would have many complaints if you had no boost!

Might be one stupid question, but did you drive it for the boost. I installed my guages, sat there at an idle and hit the gas in park and got freaked out because i wasnt making any boost lmao. I know now tho. If your not as dumb as i am and you did drive it, then do what they said, check the T fitting hose clamps to make sure they are tight, make sure your vacuum tubing is all the way down in the T, check the back of your guage, make sure your compression fitting its good. If all else fails check the hose for holes. Well i dropped my .02 cents, it will help someone some day lol! O HEY TJ! Long time no see!

do you think im having a problem with the type of boost line im running. it came with plastice clear hose that had a thick wall but that ran out so i had to get a 3 foot chunk o clear plastic line with a thinner wall. could that be the problem. what does anyone recommend for the best line to run? thanks for the help

If the line is for a gauge you will be fine. you can get the stuff at any advance etc. it is 1/8" plastic line and should come with some connections. If the different line is a different OD then you probably have a leak at a connection.
