Blowing Fuses??

Hi there,

1997 F250 HD ext cab long box 4x4, ninth generation body style, trailer package

currently my brake lights don't work...

The fuse for the turn signals, 15 amp, and the fuse for the brake lights/running lights, 15 amp, keep blowing.

I have raplaced them and when I step on the brake pedal or use the turn siganls the fuses blow, both of them.

I have put one fuse back for the turn signals and it works, the siganls.

If I put the fuse back in for the brake lights both fuses blow????

This has me stumped!

I am going to try and fix the truck tomorrow.

any ideas or input would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Dean

The first place I would look is the trailer wiring. You might also have better luck posting it in the forum for your bodystyle.

check all your wiring, you probably have a wire that has rubbed through the insulation and is shorting out on the body. Also, have you changed the bulbs lately? Make sure the correct bulbs are in the lamps. Also check all the connections at your trailer plug.
