FYI the Expy is a very safe vehicle
For 2007, see: http://www.safercar.gov/Cars/3905.html
For 2008, see: http://www.safercar.gov/Cars/4505.html However, complaints about the transmission and hard to see guages are prevelant: http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/complai...aintsearch.cfm you will have to drill down for 2007 and 2008. |

How come that the site says that the 4wd model has a less roll over rating then the 2wd model?

Do you think the AWD mode had any thing to do with the ratings?

Sounds like all the 2wd folks have to do is lower their vehicles if they care that much.

that site is not 100% correct. For both the 2wd and 4wd, the test vehicle shown did not have rollover stability control supposedly.......I am almost 100% sure that all the 07 and 08's come standard with the stability control system.
I have an 07 2wd with the truxxx leveling kit. Last week some idiot driving a mustang slammed her breaks on, from about 40 mph...while not using a blinker to turn across incoming traffic. I swerved to avoid running over the lady. I probably missed hitting her by a few inches, but at no time did I feel as if I was going to roll over or lose control. It was a quick jerk to the right and then a quick jerk back to the left to avoid hitting the curb. I felt the stability control kick in and my truck barely even felt like it was leaning at all. I was surprised how well it reacted. |
I think a majority of rollovers are inexperienced drivers who slam the brakes on and whip the wheel to the right or left. Not hard to flip any car like this.
